Agent-first CLI for interacting with the GoDaddy Developer Platform.

curl -fsSL https://github.com/godaddy/cli/releases/latest/download/install.sh | bash
gddy --version

irm https://github.com/godaddy/cli/releases/latest/download/install.ps1 | iex
gddy --version

Both installers download, checksum-verify, and install the binary for your platform. If you'd rather install by hand, download the archives from the latest release and put the binary on your PATH.

Once installed, gddy update check / gddy update apply handles upgrades in place.

Use godaddy/cli/action to install gddy inside a workflow:

- uses: godaddy/cli/action@action-v1
- run: gddy --version

Pin an exact gddy release with with: { version: v0.2.23 }; omit it for latest. The action is versioned independently of the CLI itself — action-v1 always points at the latest action-v1.x.y release.

To install Claude Code skills for the gddy CLI, run the following:

claude plugin marketplace add godaddy/cli
claude plugin install gddy@godaddy

For other agents, install using the skills CLI.

npx skills add godaddy/cli --skill gddy --agent <agent>

Swap <agent> for whichever agent you use (claude-code, cursor, codex, windsurf, opencode, ...). Run npx skills add --help for the full list of supported agents.

gddy # environment/auth snapshot + full command tree
gddy auth login # opens a browser for OAuth
gddy domain available example.com # check if a domain is registerable
gddy domain list # list domains in your account

Most commands need authentication. You may be taken through an interactive login process if you are not currently logged in, if your login has expired, or if your last auth token needs additional permissions. Run gddy auth login to log in explicitly.

For non-interactive workflows, you can use a Personal Access Token (PAT) instead. Run gddy pat create to open the page where you can generate one, then store it with gddy pat add or use it in a GDDY_PAT environment variable.

Use gddy --help or gddy tree to get a comprehensive list of available commands. Top-level commands include:

• domain — list your domains, check availability, get suggestions, and register new ones
• dns — view and edit a domain's DNS records
• hosting
• email
• shopping

We're actively working to expand the CLI to cover additional GoDaddy products.

The CLI also provides access to the GoDaddy Developer Platform for building apps that users of GoDaddy Commerce products can install to their stores.

• gddy platform app — create, configure, release, and deploy GoDaddy Platform apps
• gddy platform action — discover the action contracts an app can declare
• gddy platform webhook — inspect webhook event types for app subscriptions

Requests to GoDaddy services carry a User-Agent header containing the version of the CLI and information about how the CLI is being used (interactively, in CI, or through an AI assistant). This helps GoDaddy understand which segments of customers to focus on. No PII is included in this header.

When an AI assistant exposes a session id, requests also carry an x-client-session-id header with a one-way hash of that id, so calls from one session can be correlated. The raw id never leaves your machine, and nothing is sent when no session id exists. To stop sending the header, set GDDY_NO_SESSION_ID=1.

Run any command with --debug=transport to see the full details of what is sent in requests to GoDaddy APIs.
